This webinar series provides an overview of how the TSMO Workforce Guidebook was developed and the resources that resulted from the completed the NCHRP report and on-going NOCoE efforts. The webinar series focuses on understanding the concepts, approaches and insights provided by the research team and offers a glimpse into the depth of information available within the Guidebook.

Webinar #1 - Background, Guidebook, and Resources

The TSMO industry, in cooperation with NOCoE, has a long history of how it has tried to elevate the importance of operations by emphasizing the need for new types of jobs and skills. A significant milestone recently reached is the completion of the NCHRP 20-7(408) report that included the TSMO Workforce Guidebook and several other resources. This webinar will provide insights from the principal investigators and provide an overview of the products.

The TSMO Workforce guidebook provides distinct information on approaches that have been used successfully for workforce training, career pathways and industry assessments developed with the input of TSMO agencies, experts in the field and a thorough literature review. Details of effective practices, models and example approaches and tools will be described and expanded during this webinar.

This webinar series provide an overview of how the TSMO Workforce Guidebook was developed and the resources that resulted from the completed the NCHRP report and on-going NOCoE efforts. Building your workforce requires understanding and communicating with your respective HR departments to share reference resources that will help in developing new or refining existing position descriptions including relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) to build your TSMO team. Understanding how existing positions are changing, new positions that may be needed and the forward looking KSAs needed for the future TSMO workforce is described in this webinar.
