FHWA is working in partnership with the TMC Pooled Fund Study to develop resources to support agencies making more informed decisions as they plan for, develop, or operate the next generation of their TMSs. The “Next-Generation” TMSs offer the potential to transform how agencies actively manage and operate their system while improving the safety and mobility of all travelers. FHWA is advancing the following projects to frame the concepts and issues agencies may want to consider as they plan for or pursue the next generation of their TMSs:
