NOCoE News: Upcoming webinars on Road Weather and Data for Mainstreaming

April 28, 2022
2024 Total Solar Eclipse

With two years until the next total solar eclipse, NOCoE is working to collect and share resources to assist TSMO practitioners with this rare special event.

We've recently released a website devoted to compiling resources for practitioners leading up to the event. This includes after-action peer exchange from the 2017 total solar eclipse, lessons learned from states, and a case study on how Utah DOT took a TSMO approach to the event.

See the website here: https://transportationops.org/eclipse

Additionally, NOCoE recently hosted a webinar, planned by FHWA, to introduce TSMO practitioners to planning for the eclipse. Speakers included James Austrich and Tony Coventry from FHWA, Kelly Korreck from NASA, and Colin Campbell from Ohio Emergency Management Agency, who has already started planning for the eclipse.

Their informative presentations are also below.
