NOCoE Announces
Summer Webinars
The National Operations Center of Excellence will continue to hold 4-5 webinars per month through the summer.

Each month we bring to you several series, including the Road Weather Spotlight, Talking TIM, and Adventures in Crowdsourcing series, along with other select topics on special events, data usage for TSMO, planning webinars for Crash Responder Safety Week.

All NOCoE webinars are recorded and available via our YouTube Channel

The new Road Weather Spotlight Series, started in May, is of particular interest to those interested in workforce development, as the FHWA led monthly series recently covered recruiting, retention of road weather personnel in June and in July will discuss winter maintenance training programs.

As always, all our webinars are available for PDH credits

The calendar below covers most of the webinars planned for summer, but stay tuned as we expect several more to be announced soon for August and September.

Equity in Transportation Education and Workforce Development

Tuesday June 21, 2022 1:00pm–2:00pm ET

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Professional Capacity Building (PCB) Academic Program, along with the Boston Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), will co-host a virtual panel session on equity as it relates to transportation-related workforce development and education.

This seminar will feature panelists highlighting their successes, sharing challenges experienced with equity gaps, and discussing areas of improvement in workforce development and education within the transportation industry. This panel discussion is an example of how advocacy groups like COMTO can collaborate with USDOT to examine the current pipeline through a Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) lens, which can lead to an equitable transportation workforce.
