Summary:

Estimating current and future staffing and resource needs is essential to ensure TMSs sustain or meet their operational needs and performance expectations. However, agencies face a number of challenges and constraints in developing staffing plans or estimating and obtaining approval for the staff and resources needed to operate their TMSs. Agencies thus use different methods, tools, and consider a range of different issues to estimate their current or future TMS staffing and resource needs. The webinar will describe current practices with estimating staffing needs for TMSs, key challenges in meeting and estimating TMS staffing needs, and examples and lessons learned from operating agencies.

This webinar is part of Traffic Management Center Pooled Fund Study project to share information on traffic management system (TMS) emerging topics and an ongoing series focused on sharing information on emerging traffic management system (TMS) topics being co-sponsored by the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE), Traffic Management Center Pooled Fund Study, and FHWA.
