Crash Responder Safety Week 2022: All States Webinar #2

Start Date:

-

Summary:

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) invites State public information and communications officers, TIM professionals, and response community leaders to this second All States webinar to advance Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) planning. CRSW takes place November 14 to 18, 2022. CRSW affords a unique opportunity for every Traffic Incident Management (TIM) professional to make a difference individually and jointly for incident responder and road user safety. To facilitate the sharing of CRSW ideas and strategies, the FHWA is hosting three webinars.

This second webinar focuses on how to leverage mass media outreach channels such as television, radio, talk shows, print news and other creative strategies for broader CRSW public awareness. Presenters from our TIM community include:

  • Sal Cowan, Senior Director of Transportation Mobility, Transportation Operations Systems and Support Unit, New Jersey Department of Transportation.
  • Michael Washburn, Incident Management Program Manager, Traffic Engineering and Maintenance General Consultant to Florida’s Turnpike

During this webinar, Jim Austrich, FHWA TIM Program Manager, will conduct an abbreviated all-state roll call, requesting responder communities in each State to provide updates on their plans to commemorate the week. We kindly request highlights be limited to a minute or two.

Visit the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) CRSW webpage for a summary of the first webinar held on May 11, 2022. And be sure to register for the third planning webinar to be held September 14, 2022, at 3:00 – 4:30 PM ET.
