TRB Webinar: Safety and Financial Impacts of Airport Winter Operations

TRB will conduct a webinar on April 9, 2015, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that will feature research conducted by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) on safety and financial concerns involving airport winter operations. Webinar presenters will discuss best practices and practical applications to assist airport stakeholders in determining level of investment in winter operations and safety implications.

Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is no fee associated with this webinar. This webinar will provide 1.5 Continuing Education Units for Accredited Airport Executives. This webinar has been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners for 1.5 Certification Maintenance Credits.


 

Learning Objectives:

 At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the process for identifying the optimal level of investment needed to prepare for, operate during, and recover from, disruptive winter events;
  • Explain how to manage airport passenger expectations during such events;
  • Summarize the factors that contribute to runway incursions and potential collision risks during winter operations; and
  • Discuss ways to mitigate these factors.
