(SR500A) SHRP 2 Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) Pooled Fund Webinar Series: Highway Safety Examples

Please join us on Tuesday May 17^th 2016 from 1:00-2:30PM (EST) for the 2^nd webinar in the SHRP2 Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS) Pooled Fund webinar series. Registration is required for each webinar. I will send an email with registration information for each webinar.

The first webinar of the series – held on April 5^th 2016 – focused on describing the SHRP2 NDS data, the SHRP2 Roadway Information Database (RID), and the SHRP 2 NDS pooled fund.  A recording of this webinar can be found: https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/research/resources/stac/  .  The link for the pooled fund solicitation is available: http://www.pooledfund.org/Details/Solicitation/1427

The remaining webinars in the series will provide examples of research projects using the SHRP 2 NDS data.

During the 2^nd webinar on May 17^th we will hear from three research teams currently working on projects being conducted under the SHRP2 Implementation Assistance Program (IAP):

• Florida DOT with University of South Florida.  Titled: Understanding interactions between drivers and pedestrians at signalized intersections
• Michigan DOT with Iowa State University. Titled: Identifying the interrelationships among speed limits, geometry, and driver behavior
• Washington State DOT with Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. Titled: Assessing the impacts of roadway lighting on nighttime crashes

The 3^rd webinar in the series will be held on June 28^th 2016 from 1:00-2:00PM (EST). We will hear from two more IAP research teams: 

• Minnesota DOT with Iowa State University, project titled: Evaluating work zone safety - tentatively scheduled.
• Wyoming DOT with University of Wyoming, project titled:  Investigating driver performance and behavior in adverse weather conditions
• Additional projects will be presented in the webinars ‘tentatively’ scheduled below. Please hold these dates. All webinars will be recorded if you are unable to attend.
