Summary:

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Road Weather Management Program (RWMP) is pleased to present the Road Weather Spotlight, a monthly webinar series discussing the challenges of various road weather events, lessons learned, and practical solutions. The series runs the first Wednesday of each month and includes a facilitated panelist discussion with an open Q&A for attendees.

Please join us for our next webinar focused on Integrated Modeling for Road Condition Prediction (IMRCP) on Wednesday, November 2 from 1:00-2:30 P.M. ET.

IMRCP is intended to enhance situational awareness and provide decision support for transportation operations during adverse weather events. IMRCP gathers traffic and weather data from a multitude of sources to create new forecast information for road conditions. IMRCP also provides tools for “what if” analyses and data for past, present, and future operational time horizons.

In phase 4, FHWA deployed IMRCP in Louisiana and Ohio. The Louisiana deployment targeted weather events such as tropical storms severe enough to warrant early planning for evacuations and emergency response. The Ohio deployment focused on winter weather events to provide scenario assessment and decision support for weather-responsive management strategies. This webinar will cover the methodology and findings from phase 4 of IMRCP.
