President Taps 6 State Agency CEOs to Head Association Panels Through 2017

AASHTO President John Cox announced appointments of six CEOs of state departments of transportation to head four committees and two subcommittees.

Those are two-year appointments, which carry them through the 2017 AASHTO annual meeting.

Those named to head committees are:
-Kirk Steudle, director of the Michigan DOT, chairs the Standing Committee on Highways.
-Janet Oakley, the South Carolina transportation secretary, chairs the Standing Committee on Performance Management.
-Charles Zelle, commissioner of the Minnesota DOT, chairs the Standing Committee on Public Transportation.
-James Redeker, commissioner of the Connecticut DOT, chairs the Standing Committee on Rail Transportation.

The subcommittee appointments are:
-Shailen Bhatt, the Colorado DOT executive director, chairs the Subcommittee on Transportation Systems Management and Operations.
-Mike Patterson, the Oklahoma DOT director, chairs the Subcommittee on Asset Management.
