V2X and TSMO Peer Exchange Report

The National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) hosted the V2X and TSMO Peer Exchange in College Station, Texas to share information between a cross section of transportation agency professionals in research, TSMO, and ITS roles.

The NOCoE has been coordinating resources for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology since 2016 when it started focusing on the use of signal phase and timing (SPaT) applications being deployed as part of the CAT Coalition’s SPaT Challenge.

Additionally, NOCoE has held V2X focused peer exchanges in Salt Lake City (hosted by Utah DOT) and Phoenix (hosted by Maricopa County DOT) and hosted numerous webinars on V2X enabled applications. This peer exchange was designed to build on these past efforts and help to reinvigorate the national conversation on V2X technology.

NOCoE at the 2025 AASHTO Safety Summit and Peer Exchange

At this year’s Safety Summit, NOCoE participated in the panel “Connecting the Roadway: CAV & V2X Innovations and Deployment Lessons from Across the Nation.” Moderated by Commissioner Russell McMurray (GDOT), the panel also featured Ben McCulloch (TxDOT) and Wes Musgrove (Iowa DOT).

NOCoE shared key findings from the TSMO and V2X Peer Exchange held this past May in College Station, TX, and announced the release of the accompanying report. The session was well received and highlighted valuable lessons and deployment insights from across the country.

Preventing Crime in Hyperspaces

Organised by SafeplacesNetwork/Digital Futures

Date: November 20, 2025
Time: 12:00 – 17:00 CET Stockholm time
Location: Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Room W38, Teknikringen 78A and Zoom (link to be announced)

We begin by introducing the concept of hyperspaces and examining the unique cybersecurity risks that arise from the interaction between online and physical environments. In this second seminar, we focus on integrating the concepts of hyperspace into urban planning and policy-making. Speakers will discuss attacks on transportation systems and reflect on research and government preparedness for navigating these challenges, which are crucial for defining actionable recommendations for policymakers and urban planners. By understanding hyperspace as a multifaceted environment where digital and physical systems interact, we can better grasp the vulnerabilities cities may face.
