Transportation Digital Infrastructure (TDI) has garnered attention from transportation stakeholders as vital to advancing an Integrated Transportation System of Systems (ITSS) for future transportation systems. TDI is a broad, multimodal approach that seeks to connect our entire transportation system, allowing us to exchange and use data to provide insights to advance transportation system safety, efficiency, and resiliency while improving mobility and personal choice.
ITS America is working with U.S. Department of Transportation’s (U.S. DOT) Office of Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) to develop a National Transportation Digital Infrastructure (TDI) Strategy that incorporates and builds on existing public- and private-sector efforts, spans all modes of transportation, and integrates new technologies. Efforts focus on coordination, collaboration, consensus building, and leadership of transportation stakeholders to develop a strategy that establishes a national vision for TDI, includes a comprehensive stakeholder map, prioritizes multimodal use cases, develops a framework for future system architecture, and establishes a roadmap for continued development and deployment of a TDI system.
Stakeholder feedback is critical in achieving a nationwide strategy based on collaboration and consensus, which is why your involvement is integral. During this event, participants will receive insight into the efforts of ITS America and U.S. DOT, learn about opportunities for engagement, and can ask questions and engage with ITS America and U.S. DOT representatives.
