Mike Holder to Serve as Interim North Carolina DOT Secretary
A division engineer for Gaston and Cleveland counties will serve as interim secretary of the Department of Transportation for Gov. Roy Cooper.
Cooper has named Mike Holder to the caretaker role as the new governor completes his cabinet appointments. James Trogdon, an engineer with decades of experience in planning roads in North Carolina and a major general in the National Guard, will serve as Transportation secretary under Cooper's administration.
Holder of Belmont oversees all 14 transportation divisions. Since 2000, he has been the division engineer for Division 12, which includes Gaston, Cleveland, Iredell, Alexander, Catawba and Lincoln counties.
Holder manages construction projects, maintenance, operations and customer service for the division.
