Input Requested for MoDOT's Road to Tomorrow

Via ITE/Johnathan A. Nelson, P.E.

MoDOT and the state of Missouri need your help. You may have seen where the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently announced MoDOT’s Road to Tomorrow initiative. This initiative is a call to private industry, entrepreneurs, and innovators to bring creative and innovative ideas for the next generation of highways to Missouri. Specifically, MoDOT is making 200 miles of I-70 between Kansas City and St. Louis available as a test bed and laboratory for potential solutions.

There is no preconceived plan. There are no bad ideas. At a time when Missouri, like many of your states, wrestles with a shortfall in transportation funding, MoDOT is seeking both new technologies and new solutions for funding transportation. For more information on this initiative, please visit www.modot.org/road2tomorrow.

How can you help? First, if you have an idea of your own, we would love to hear about it. Submissions through the online form are simple and quick. Second, we could use your help in spreading the message about this initiative among the partners, industry, and innovators you work with on a regular basis. We want to reach out to the world to gather the ingenuity, innovation, and imagination required to build the transportation system of the future.

Thank you for your consideration and support. If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact Tom Blair or me, Jon Nelson, directly.
