The Director of Google’s Self-Driving Car Program Talks About the Future of Autonomous Vehicles

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Transportation TV has released a T-Talk Video that highlights the keynote address by Chris Urmson, Director of Google’s Self-Driving Car Program at the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting Chairman’s Luncheon on January 13, 2016, in Washington, DC. Urmson said Google’s primary motivation for creating driverless cars is to improve safety, mobility and reliability by reducing traffic crashes and the amount of time people waste sitting in traffic. Urmson also described the progress his team is making in rapidly advancing the technology.
