Connecticut DOT Using Internet to Help Drivers

Officials with Connecticut Department of Transportation are using the internet to help drivers determine how long they will be stuck in traffic on Interstate 84 in Waterbury. Real time traffic updates surrounding that massive construction project are just a few clicks away and helping commuters.
With state officials revamping a stretch of I-84, there is expected to be traffic delays on that stretch of highway. However, an interactive website is helping drivers determine how long their commute will be and the possible congestion. Amber Munley commutes on I-84 and said this new technology is a big help.
DOT rolled out a website about the I-84 Waterbury Project to keep drivers up-to-date on the construction project. It's introducing a live interactive traffic map for the project area that includes showing the eastbound and westbound traffic flow, cameras, messages and speed sensors.
