Start Date:
-Summary:
The U.S. DOT’s ITS Joint Program Office plans to hold a week-long intensive training and design session during the week of October 19th, 2015. This session is intended to give our CV Pilots teams an in-depth overview of our Reference Architecture and the tools and support services available as they start the design phase of their projects. Other interested stakeholders will be able to participate in this session via webinar. For more information on the CV Pilot Deployment Program, please visit: http://www.its.dot.gov/pilots/.
Session Details & Agenda:
The session will cover the following topics over the course of the week:
• Day 1 PM: A half-day architecture concept overview based on the Reference Architecture Concept of Operation (http://cps-vo.org/node/20435)
• Day 2 AM: Interaction with the project teams to find a focus area (application area) from each of the teams to use as a training exercise later in the week. We would find one related to vehicle or traveler created and/or used data, one related to the creation and use of intersection state data, and one that involves a peer-to-peer transaction based activity. We plan to find three examples that should be of interest to at least two of the project teams.
• Day 2 PM: Overview of the CVRIA and SET-IT tool, the Open Source Portal, the Research Data Exchange, Support Services tools and staff, Support Services back office services such as SCMS and Data Clearinghouse/Warehouse available for the teams to use.
• Day 3 AM, Day 3 PM, Day 4 AM: Instructor-led creation of project architecture artifacts using SET-IT. Each of the three focus areas can be used to illustrate various features of the SET-IT tool so that the teams see all three architecture views and the creation of key parts of a Concept of Operations.
• Day 4 PM: Support Services tools and back office services applied to the focus areas.
• Day 5 AM: Wrap up, take always, relationship continuation.
