SPaT Challenge: J2735 MAP Creator Tool Demo Webinar

Start Date:

-

Summary:

This webinar will showcase the J2735 MAP creator tool through live technical demo that includes a step-by-step training on how to use the tool.

The American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the Institute of Traffic Engineers (ITE), and ITS America (ITSA) working together through the Vehicle to Infrastructure Deployment Coalition (V2I DC) have challenged state and local public sector transportation infrastructure owners and operators (IOOs) to work together to achieve deployment of roadside Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) 5.9 GHz broadcast radio infrastructure to broadcast signal phase and timing (SPaT) in real-time at signalized intersections on at least one road corridor or street network (approximately 20 signalized intersections) in each of the 50 states by January 2020. This is commonly called the SPaT Challenge.

Instructors:

Kyle Rush, Leidos: Kyle Rush is a software developer with the Leidos at the Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory. His primary focus at the STOL has been work on prototype connected-automated vehicle applications like eco-approach and departure, cooperative adaptive cruise control, and the CARMA platform. He has been involved with DSRC messaging work such as building decoders and encoders,  processing the data for usage in a connected vehicle or data environment, using the data for interoperability testing, and is currently a member of the SAE J2945/10 task force to set forth recommended practices for SPaT and MAP message usage.

Leonid Kunin, Leidos: Mr. Kunin has over 35 years of extensive experience in large scale object-oriented design and analysis as well as expertize in software, computer, and network security. He is also highly proficient in design and development of graphical user interfaces, client server systems, frameworks, real-time and embedded applications, distributed and massive parallel programming, database management systems, systems and kernel programming, languages and compilers. Mr. Kunin is also skilled in software development management and leadership, agile development, mentoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
