Participate in an Online Dialogue on Accessible Transportation Innovation

Start Date:

Summary:

Transport yourself to the future of accessible transportation options by participating in an online dialogue on Breaking Down Employment Barriers with Accessible Transportation Innovation. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the U.S. Department of Transportation's Accessible Transportation Technologies Research Initiative (ATTRI), this dialogue will be ongoing until November 20th.

Travelers with disabilities, including veterans and older adults, often face mobility challenges due to a lack of accessible transportation options. A number of emerging personal mobility options can change this and provide better options for all travelers to get from point a to point b, including to and from places of employment.

Research in accessible transportation, such as on-demand operations, virtual concierge travel assistance through mobile devices, and assistive robots, has gained new momentum in recent years. The goal of this online dialogue is to gather insights on future accessible transportation solutions that will further develop and enhance transportation options to support employment for people with disabilities.
