Summary:

During this two day event , regional first responders and state and national transportation leaders will convene to discuss topics related to emergency management, operations and planning, boarding crossings, in-vehicle technologies, and how Intelligent Tranpsortation Systems (ITS) and practices that are improving the safety of travelers and first responders.

Panels Sessions 
The symposium will address a variety of topics in an effort to explore how technology can advance emergency response and protect responders and the lives of the people they serve. Panel topics include:

  • Panel 1: What Does Connectivity Mean for Emergency Responders?
  • Panel 2: On-Board Device Distraction in Emergency Response Vehicles
  • Panel 3:Cross-Border Response: Partnerships and Challenges
  • Panel 4: Emergency Management Planning and Operations

TIM Training for Emergency Responders
Before the symposium officially kicks-off on Monday, participants are invited to attend a SHRP-2 Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training session, sponsored by the New York State Department of Transportation, taking place from 8:00 a.m. - Noon on
