Summary:

AASHTO is accepting nominations for the upcoming AASHTO National Transportation Leadership Institute, our graduate-level management training program designed to supplement engineering expertise with leadership and management techniques oriented to highway and transportation department operations.  Plunged into a fast-moving, interesting and challenging environment, participants engage in group discussions, problem-solving and other techniques designed to enhance management skills.  Fundamental management concepts, principles and practices will be tailored to the unique challenges of transportation agencies, and participants will explore the application of advanced techniques in managing departments.

The links below will forward you to an application and information packet for the 2014 Institute and the 2013 Institute highlights, along with a graph of the track/course alignment.  As noted in the packet, applications for enrollment must be submitted by April 18, 2014.  The two-week Institute will be held at the Indiana Historical Society Conference Center which is located adjacent to the IUPUI campus from June 1-13, 2014, under the direction of Dr. Thomas DeCoster, the former director of the Executive Education Program at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.  The tuition fee is $3,150.  Also offered for the second time is a Premium Tuition Option of $3,555, which includes a mentoring session three months following the Institute.  The living expenses or travel costs are not included in the tuition fee.
