Overview
This webinar examined how traffic operations strategies and data could be leveraged for proactive safety interventions, with a focus on integrating technologies such as connected vehicle (CV) data, advanced analytics, and predictive modeling. It also highlighted key research needs identified to advance proactive safety applications. In addition, presenters from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the City of Bellevue shared real-world examples demonstrating the effective use of operations strategies and data to improve safety outcomes. The webinar emphasized the importance of integrated and proactive safety strategies and key opportunities and challenges in scaling and sustaining operations-based and data-driven safety interventions.
