System Requirements for Intersection Conflict Warning Systems

Overview

This project is a continuation of the previous "Developing Consistency in ITS Safety Solutions -- Intersection Conflict Warning Systems (Phase 1)". This project included a few national entities, such as AASHTO Subcommittee on Traffic Engineering, the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and the Traffic Control Devices and Evaluation of Low Cost Safety Improvements pooled funds. This project continues to support the standardization of intersection conflict warning systems by increased and improved coordination among the national groups, and by developing a model concept of operations and system requirements for the four types of ICWS.
