Overview
The Road Weather Management Program (RWMP), which is part of the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Office of Operations, works in conjunction with the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO) of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA). The program addresses road weather challenges through research, technology development, and community outreach to gain a greater understanding of the impact weather has on roadways, and through the promotion of strategies and tools that mitigate those impacts.
