Overview
This document discusses the VDOT NOVA Smart Travel Program Plan and envisions that ITS will make travel “smart” through the application of technology, as well as through automated, streamlined agency processes and procedures. The document emphasizes that the focus is on attaining operating efficiencies from the existing roadway infrastructure, not necessarily from building additional capacity.
