New Jersey Statewide ITS Architecture

Overview

The New Jersey Statewide Intelligent Transportation Systems Architecture (NJITSA) serves as a strategic framework for integrating transportation systems across New Jersey over the next decade. Developed collaboratively by regional transportation agencies, it outlines a shared vision for enhancing safety, mobility, and efficiency through the application of advanced technologies. The architecture encompasses various components, including stakeholder roles, system inventories, functional requirements, interface definitions, and regional ITS projects, all aimed at fostering seamless information exchange and coordination among agencies. Additionally, the NJITSA identifies necessary interagency agreements and applicable ITS standards to support system interoperability and effective deployment. Recognizing the dynamic nature of transportation needs, the document establishes procedures for ongoing maintenance and updates to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.
