Network Analysis for Policy and Logistics

Overview

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2089 includes 13 papers that explore approximations to the average length of vehicle routing problems, heuristic framework for optimizing hurricane evacuation operations, location routing approach for the humanitarian prepositioning problem, emergency evacuation planning, integrating equity objectives in a road network design model, and equity and efficiency analysis of pricing strategies in a bimodal network.  This issue of the TRR also examines dynamic shortest-path algorithm for continuous arc travel times for incident management, incorporating environmental justice measures into equilibrium-based network design, vehicle routing with time-dependent travel times, solution algorithm for long-haul freight network design, multidepot vehicle-routing problem with time windows, optimizing transit priority at the network level, and optimizing distance-based fares and headway of an intercity transportation system.
