MOU - Business 40 Tow Contracts

Overview

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to further define the working relationship between the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), The North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCHSP) and the Winston-Salem Police Department 9WSPD) int heir efforts to promote safe and efficient Traffic Incident Management practices during the Business 40 Closure as well as to provide guidance for implementation of the Business 40 Contract Tow Program. The business 40 Tow Contracts (light Duty and heavy Duty) have been initiated by the NCDOT to ensure qualified towing and recovery companies safely, quickly and adequately respond to and clear crash and/or incident scenes on portions of five major thoroughfares and interchanges around the Business 40 Closure area in a timely and efficient manner.
