Overview
The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC) developed the Genesee-Finger Lakes Regional Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO) Strategic Plan in September 2018 to enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the region's transportation network.
The plan emphasizes the integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and improved interagency coordination to optimize existing infrastructure. Key initiatives include updating the Regional ITS Architecture, implementing Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) strategies, and establishing a Regional Traffic Operations Center (RTOC) to monitor and manage traffic conditions in real-time.
By focusing on these strategies, GTC aims to improve mobility, enhance safety, and reduce operational costs across the Genesee-Finger Lakes region.
