Talking TIM Webinar Series: March 2020

Overview

State and local Traffic Incident Management (TIM) programs cover a broad range of maturity from emerging programs to those that are advanced. The Talking TIM Webinar Series seeks to provide a forum where TIM champions with any level of experience can exchange information about current practices, programs, and technologies. Each month, Talking TIM will highlight successful programs, identify best practices, and showcase technology that advances the profession. The March webinar agenda includes:

Presenters:

Eric Hemphill: Eric is the Director of Traffic & Incident Management for the North Texas Tollway Authority.  His department includes the traffic management center, which includes law enforcement dispatch, the safety service patrol program, emergency management, traffic engineering, insurance, and safety.  He is also a licensed professional engineer in Texas. 

Alvin Marquess: Alvin, who formerly served as the Deputy Director of Operations for Maryland State Highway’s Office of CHART (Coordinated Highways Action Response Team) and ITS Development, has 30 years experience with the state of which 22 years was spent with Traffic Incident Management and ITS initiatives. Alvin’s experience with Incident Management ranges from all of the operational and emergency facets of the day to day operations of the Traffic Management Centers and patrols to planning for large planned and unplanned events and emergency management strategies.  Duties included directing the operational aspects and employees of the Statewide Operations Center as well as the four regional centers and their associated response personnel.  Alvin joined Jacobs Engineering in January of 2012 and is part of the Jacobs team working on Traffic Incident Management related projects such as creating TIM training programs, developing plans for large planned and unplanned events, Transportation Management plans, Traffic Operations plans, review of existing Transportation operations and assisting in the coordination of multi-agency Transportation Management Teams
