Advancing Mode Options in Managed Lane Projects

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Operations is currently providing information and assistance on the integration of emerging mobility into transportation management*. One specific type of innovative transportation management strategy is managed lanes. This webinar is designed to explore specific ways to integrate such concepts as mobility on demand, information technology and behavioral economics into managed lane projects in order to enhance alternative mode use in managed lane corridors.

*FHWA generally defines the Integration of Emerging Mobility into Transportation Management as: New options, choices and efficiencies are available for personal travel through the convergence and integration of infrastructure, services, technologies, incentives and policies. These may include tactics like: improved integration of real-time data, proactive demand management in operations, and use of advanced technology and multi-modal opportunities to facilitate on-demand mobility.

Target Audience

  • Agencies and professionals with an interest in maximizing person throughput on managed lanes, including: TDM programs, planners, alternative mode service providers, facility operators and private information brokers.
