This annual event brings together some of the world's greatest players in the field of intelligent transportation. The theme this year was "Towards Intelligent Mobility: Better Use of Space," and focused on how achieving intelligent mobility will change our lives and the benefits space can bring to ITS applications. Although safety is the USDOT's top priority, a large part of our ITS program explores improving mobility through innovative technology. Our premier connected vehicle program is researching advanced applications that promise to reduce congestion and improve the overall efficiency of our transportation system, in addition to saving lives.

USDOT representatives spoke at several World Congress sessions and panels, presenting on the latest results of this research as well other ITS efforts, challenges, and milestones.
