Upcoming Webinar: Traffic Analysis Toolbox Volume 3 Update Proof-of-Concept Case Studies
Webinar Summary
Emerging data sources and collection technologies have led to advancements in traffic analysis, modeling, and simulation. Accordingly, FHWA published the 2019 update to the Traffic Analysis Toolbox (TAT) Volume 3 microsimulation compendium originally published in 2004. The 2019 method leverages newly available data to enable improved calibration, alternatives analysis, and understanding of varying conditions throughout the year. Although practitioners recognize the potential benefits of the 2019 update, some have cited obstacles to adopting the method. This webinar describes new proof-of-concept case studies that seek to de-mystify the 2019 method and produce tangible examples and success stories achieved through application of the method.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the TAT Volume 3 case study project background, motivation, goals, and deliverables.
  • Establish a linkage between TAT Volume 3 and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO).
  • Through the proof-of-concept case studies, gain an improved understanding of how the TAT Volume 3 method enables improved calibration, alternatives analysis, and understanding of varying conditions throughout the year.
