NOCoE TRB Student Contest Winner Attends TRB

At last week's TRB Annual Meeting, NOCoE celebrated the winner of its 2026 TRB Student Contest, Gabriel Geffen. Gabriel, a doctoral candidate at the University of Arizona, won the contest with his video on the use of AI for ramp metering, which he also presented on during Monday morning's poster session.

NOCoE arranged for Gabriel to meet with a variety of transportation leaders and attend several new TRB committee meetings.

NOCoE has been sending students to TRB since 2017 with a focus on enhancing their communication and presentation skills. NOCoE's other major student activity, the Transportation Technology Tournament (see below), also kicks off soon and was widely discussed during the TRB committee meetings and exhibits NOCoE attended.
