NOCoE Student Contest Winner

The NOCoE 2026 TRB Student Contest Winner is Gabriel Geffen, Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Arizona. 

Students from across the country submitted entries on their work and passion for transportation systems management and operations (TSMO). Gabriel Geffen won with his video, below, on research for the use of AI for ramp metering.

NOCoE is supporting Gabriel's travel to TRB Annual Meeting, taking place January 11 - 14, 2026 in Washington, DC to present a poster, attend industry sessions, and engage and learn from industry leaders. 

Join us on Tuesday, January 13 at the AASHTO booth (#857) from 12:30pm to 3:30pm ET to meet with Gabriel and engage with TSMO professionals.
