NOCoE Honors World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
On the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) honors those of the traveling public and response community who’ve been killed and injured in traffic crashes.
The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) is observed on the third Sunday of November each year by an increasing number of countries on every continent around the world. This day is dedicated to remembering the many millions killed or injured in road crashes and their families and communities, as well as to pay tribute to the dedicated emergency crews, police and medical professionals who daily deal with the traumatic aftermath of road death and injury.
As we witness the rise in fatalities from traffic crashes in the past few years, we recommit to our mission to advance technologies and strategies to improve the safety of the transportation system and to protect the lives of the responders who serve the traveling public.
We encourage you to learn more about the World Day of Remembrance and the events taking place in the United States and around the globe.
Have safe and happy Thanksgiving!
